Catching up...

Well, since this is our first blog post, I figured that I should give you a quick update of everything that has been going on in our life. Where to start...
1. On December 13th, Harley took off for his second deployment to Iraq. We were fortunate enough to have him home for a year, but Uncle Sam apparently thought that he did such an oustanding job last time, that they needed him over there again. :) This time is a little different for him because he is a the Company Commander, which means more work, more stress, more everything! He is doing well over there and we have two months down!
2. In January I decided that I wanted to get back in shape and have, as weird as it sounds, really developed a passion for running! I am training for the San Antonio Half-marathon in November! In the meantime, I have a great personal trainer, Maureen Ernst, a good friend of mine, who is helping to kick my bootay! I have started running 5K's around the area and have also signed up for the Ft. Hood spouse's Army 10-miler team! The Army 10-miler is in D.C. on October 4th and is sure to be a great time.
3. Addie Kay is SUPER busy these days! She started walking on her 1-year birthday and has not slowed down!!! She is all over the place and keeps me on my toes. There isn't a day that goes by that she doesn't have me laughing to tears. She has an amazing, outgoing, comedic personality and really brightens everyday. Her best friends are her boys, Max and Shrap, and she loves playing with them and getting trampled on! As I post pictures, you will see that she is definitely not camera shy! She loves to pose for pictures and puts on a good show for the Video Camera.
4. Addie and I recently got back from an amazing visit to Gayla and Joe's/Aunt Gigi and Uncle Joe house in Ft. Bragg, NC. We had a wonderful time shopping, relaxing, laughing, and of course EATING! Gayla was very successful in completely throwing me off my not so exciting daily eating plan. I think I could have finished the entire pan of Uncle Joe's lasagna, because it was amazing, even if he thought it wasn't up to par! We spent 5 days out there with them and it was so hard to come back. We can't wait for their visit to Texas, which will hopefully be sometime in the near future.
5. Now, it is back to the daily grind for us...work, army functions and meetings, working out, playing, running around, etc. Daily life is definitely a little harder and much lonelier without our Harley here with us. But we just keep pushing on with each new day and look forward to his 2-week R&R leave this summer.

So, there is my attempt at a quick update, or not so quick update of what we have been doing over the past couple months. More to come this weekend as we have some fun stuff going on. Much love to all! Cheers!
